viBeCreations

viBeCreations was specifically created for pregnant and parenting teenage girls. A viBe teaching artist and a trained childbirth educator/ doula work with an ensemble of pregnant teenagers to create, rehearse and perform individual, original poetic performances. With few creative outlets, these young women often have little opportunity to process their emotions, hopes and fears during this tremendous time of transition. Our most recent viBeCreations program was co-directed by Ari, an astounding teenage viBe Alum. This program culminated in the publication of, Because I’m Me, a book of poetry that the girls wrote and edited.
