Suzanne C. Sousa, Chair
Suzanne is the Director of the Mentoring and Volunteer Office
at the Administration for Children’s Services, whose mission
is to ensure the safety and well-being of all the children of
New York City and to strengthen families. Before joining this
city agency, Suzanne held senior leadership positions at the
National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts and the Peter
F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management both in New York
City plus a one-year assignment with UNICEF Brasil in Rio de
Janeiro.
Before moving to New York in 1997, Ms. Sousa completed over
3,500 hours of community service as an AmeriCorps member working
for an environmental organization in New Jersey. She has provided
freelance development and public relations for numerous clients,
including The Business Council for the United Nations, Forbes
Magazine, Lighthouse International and the Starlight Children’s
Foundation.
Ms. Sousa graduated with a B.A. in Arts History and Geography
from Rutgers University, New Jersey.
